The Infinite Players Club

is an hour-long sound collage and audio zine that airs monthly on 8ball Community Radio. It blends music, archival tape, speeches, and interviews with Black feminist thinkers and radical voices—those who speak across time, who interrupt the feed. Part mixtape, part séance, part sonic essay, the show is a meeting ground for music, memory, and political imagination. In each episode sound isn’t just backdrop—it’s structure, texture, and method- following intuition over agenda, asking questions, looping them, distorting them, letting them echo.

This episode touches on everything from black women’s diss tracks, hip hop feminisms, black femme twitter beef, internet cultures, identities, and the digital diaspora. For this first episode we’re going to be talking to Simi (@solasystem_). Known as sola system in the the clubs, Simi threads these ideas together and we weave their story with their music selection for much of the episode.

HOUSE/HOME

This episode moves between house music and housing, between the dance floor and the front door. We begin with June Jordan—her poem Financial Planning, her visionary collaboration with Buckminster Fuller on A Skyrise for Harlem, and her eco-womanist approach to architecture as community dreaming. We move through poetry, co-op life, and dance floors, following the rhythms of house music and housing precarity.

This episode digs into the alchemy of sampling and magic—how both break the link between cause and effect, turning the familiar into something strange. We explore how sampling isn’t just extraction, but a way to map new geographies through sound. We talk about music as a tool for place-making, and how magic can be a kind of social theory—shifting power and perception through illusion.
